Back in Time

Influences from the past are popping up in this year’s bathrooms including Victorian and Art Deco designs.  Combining these timeless designs with 21st century fittings lets you embrace these classic features with the luxury of modern clean lines.

Stunning freestanding baths create the show-stopping feature of a bathroom with a sense of grandeur, consider including a Victorian roll top or gorgeous Deco design bath to your new room.

Add character in a sleek way with a traditional basin with exposed piping, showing off the beautiful design in brass, chrome or rose gold.  To add a little vintage drama why not include statement floor tiles, bespoke lighting or a striking mirror.

Colour Palette

Pastel colours are continuing to dominate interior design in 2019, with grey slowly fading away.  Sophisticated neutrals of rose, lavender, mint or pale peach give an alternative hue to bathrooms.

Soft pinks and nude tones create a warm sense of wellbeing in bathrooms reflecting a calm space to retreat and relax.

Earthy tones add a sense of drama from browns, beige or honey.  Ochre gives a sense of vibrancy with an uplifting sunny appeal, it also works well when mixed with black or white giving a new edge to monochrome designs.

Alternatively consider deep forest greens to create depth in the bathroom which work wonderfully with wood or vintage designs.  Not forgetting timeless elegant blue tones which are available in a vast array of shades from light to dark.

Whether you are looking for soft calming tones or a splash of drama consider what atmosphere you wish to achieve in your new bathroom.  Colour affects our emotions and how we feel in a room so choosing the right scheme is important.

Touch of Sparkle

Add a touch of sparkle and glamour to your bathroom with tiles that reflect the light such as Minoli’s marvel gold hex gris calcatta mosaics.

All that shimmers is being seen with metallic textures featured within tiles, accessories and bathroom products.  There has been a subtle move away from classic chrome which is now being seen within bathrooms, the timeless appeal of brass and gold tones provide a refreshing alternative.

These are easy to incorporate within a bathroom design from small exquisite touches to dramatic statement features.  Bringing a touch of gold for examples into a few well-chosen pieces can create an element of old world glamour and luxury.  Dramatic overhead showers, shower sets, designer taps, lighting or mirrors add interest and opulence to any bathroom.

Shiny and reflective metallic can give your bathroom a modern edgy makeover.

Tantalising Tiles

The timeless elegance of marble continues to be popular as it works well within contemporary and traditional bathrooms.  Monochrome designs will never go out of fashion and can be adapted to current trends.  Feature walls with striking geometric mosaic tiles with industrial style fittings such as contemporary crittal shower screens are being seen this year.

Neutral nude tones of grey and beige remain popular for those looking to build bathrooms that have a relaxing and calm atmosphere.  These designs can be lifted by incorporating various tones, shapes and textures.

Matt finishes to tiles are favoured particularly in family bathrooms as they don’t easily show water marks making them perfect for floors.  Glossy tiles add the final dramatic touches to walls, as they reflect more light than matt they are perfect for smaller rooms.

Tiles can add the individual element to your bathroom design, from light seamless styles to shapes and forms in a variety of colours, finishes and textures. Create simplicity and elegance, evoke a spa-inspired bathroom with dark broody tones or evoke drama in small spaces with a statement wall.

The possibilities are limitless this year from coloured and patterned tiles, honeycomb geometrics, narrow subway tiles creating a more modern feel to fish scales which can add a new dimension with touches of art deco fan shapes.

Nature Inspired

Wishing to bring nature and the outside into our homes has been seen across interior design over the last few years and is now forming part of bathroom design.  Nature inspired bathrooms can allow you to feel like you are at a relaxing spa.

Inspiration from nature can be found all around us.  If you wish to bring the uplifting feeling you gain from walking in the park inside consider earthy tones with touches of greenery.

Wood effect tiles create a warmer and more natural environment to a bathroom, with an organic texture to them.  The imperfection of these finishes helps to create a softer tranquil design.

Neutral colours create a harmonious feeling in the bathroom whereas greens and earthy tones can add a bold freshness.  Add Furniture in wood tones to your urban space to complement the overall design along with touches of botanical plants and foliage.
